Filtering Systems based on your requirements
Filter Holdings provides a range of proprietary fabrics and specialized coatings to produce filter systems for all applications.
Filtering Systems
With its technical depth and unmatched experience in filtration, Filter Holdings has demonstrated repeated success in offering solutions for filtering:
- High temperature air streams
- Fine dusts and aerosols
- Chemically reactive agents
- Static sensitive air/dust mixtures
- Air & Gas Filtration
- Liquid Filtration
Chemically reactive (or corrosive agents) include acids and alkali as well as oxidizing agents and transition metals. When most chemical agents in a liquid medium come in contact with fibers, they degrade surfaces. Filter fabrics in processing environments that involve chemically reactive or corrosive agents require a special surface finish. This limits chemical contact with the fabric fibers and block penetration to protect the fibers beneath the surface finish.
Filter Holdings offers the ultimate in fabric protection from chemically reactive agents with our Unipore expanded PTFE membrane fabric surface treatment. Applied to quality woven or felted fabrics, this 100% Teflon surface repels water-borne chemicals, prevents surface adhesion, and is virtually immune from chemical degradation (except hydrofluoric acid).
Depending on the application and the chosen filter fabric, Filter Holdings offers a variety of filter fabric treatment options for resisting chemical agent attack and degradation:
- Acid Resistant Finish
- Acid Resistant plus Oleophobic Finish
- MaxClad II smooth microporous, interlayered Teflon structure
- Unipore expanded PTFE (Teflon) Surface Treatment
Filter Holdings is a leading innovator of high performance filtration media. We offer the widest range of specialty surface coatings and treatments for filter media engineered to solve chemically reactive agent filtration issues.
Filter Holdings offers standard and custom fabric construction and finishes for effective filtration of fine dusts, fine particles or aerosols in gas streams. A variety of construction and finishes are available in felted and woven fabrics.
Examples of available fabrics and finishes include:
- Microfiber Felts – using exceptionally fine fibers, retention level is increased several-fold.
- Multilayer Felts – utilizing a gradient effect for maximizing surface capture at high flows. Use of fibers of opposing polarity can further enhance capture rate by inducing a static field effect.
- Unipore Surface Treatment – only available from Filter Holdings
- SRC Surface Treatment – only available from Filter Holdings
- MaxClad II Surface Treatment – only available from Filter Holdings

Filter Holdings offers innovative filter fabrics, treatments and finishes for effective filtration of high-temperature air streams. Construction options, treatments and finishes are available for a wide variety of quality felted and woven fabrics. Our range of standard filter media for filtration of high-temperature air streams includes:
- Nomex®- In weights from 14 to 18 oz., Nomex is a low-cost solution for handling continuous temperatures up to 400°F.
- PPS (Procon, Torcon) - At oxygen levels up to 15% and below 375°F, PPS is the fabric of choice when acids or alkali are present.
- P-84 - A unique trilobal fiber structure makes P-84 a highly efficient filter fabric at temperatures up to 465°F.
- Fiberglass - Available as woven or felted fabrics in weights from 10 to 27 ounces, fiberglass can handle continuous temperatures up to 550°F.
- PTFE (Teflon): A premium fabric available in felts or woven with Unipore membrane for handling continuous temperatures up to 550°F.
Filter Holdings also offers a variety of other unique high temperature fabric and surface treatment options for maximizing service life and filtration challenges at continuous operating temperatures up to 400°F.

Movement of a dust stream past a fabric filter produces a static charge. Unless conducted away, the charge can produce a high voltage spark and ignite a combustible powder in the air. Sugar, coffee, starches and wood dusts are known to have caused devastating explosions triggered by combustible static-charged dust and air mixtures.
Scrutiny by safety officials has raised awareness of the risks of using non-conductive fabrics in processing operations, casting doubt over the effectiveness of grounding schemes that rely on wires sewn over bags. Processors have become more aware that a static charge on a filter bag will remain localized since synthetic fibers, such as polyester, are insulators.
Filter Holdings offers a range of conductive fabrics that safely conduct a static charge to a "ground", including:
- Felted static conductive fabrics
- Woven static conductive fabrics
- Static conductive fabrics with Unipore PTFE membrane
- Static conductive fabrics with MaxClad II
With many options for conductive fabrics and optional high performance surface treatments, Filter Holdings can provide the widest range of conductive filter media options for reliable and effective filtration of sensitive dust/air mixtures.
Choosing the correct Filtering System Can benefit you
With the variety of filtering systems available, selecting the right configuration can pay dividends in the long term. Working alongside Filter Holdings’ experts, we can create the correct filtering system for your specific needs.
Durability
Coupled with our best-in-class materials and procedures, our workers create filtration products and filter bags that can withstand repeated use, regardless of material.
Effectiveness
The development of various filtration products and filter bags frequently take into account particles on microscopic levels. How seams are stitched together, whether with traditional needle-and-thread or sealed together, is also another component of the kinds of options our customers are able to make use of.
